Gears: spur gear (bicycle), bevel gear (90°), worm gear (rod and gear)

Pumps: Reciprocating pump (hand-pump), centrifugal pump (impeller), rotary pump (positive displacement)

Size

Do not use: “with an outer diameter equal to the inner diameter of the bore”

Rather use: “sized to fit within the bore” / “sized to cover …

Or sized to substantially occupy a space therebetween (or therein)

Or is located within a space delimited by … (instead of “fits within”)

Shape

U-shaped transverse cross section

opposed complemental concave arcuate faces (calliper arms that fit over tube)

right circular cylindrical

forwardly facing convexly curved surface

flared outward in a rearward direction to form a conical surface

pantographically structured (such that sides are always parallel, e.g. trellis doors)

Cooperation

prevent / permit

actuated (so as to introduce grease)
