We take pride in our thorough practical understanding of our Exchange Control Regulations insofar as they relate to intellectual property (IP), and the environment in which our Reserve Bank operates.

During late 2006, we raised concerns with Treasury regarding the interplay between our Exchange Control Regulations and our Income Tax Act and we are currently assisting Treasury to remedy any potential problem areas.

You will notice from our Articles that much IP has been expatriated illegally. Should you wish either to remedy any past contraventions or to make any IP-related applications to SARB, we would be glad to assist you. However, we insist on making full disclosure in our applications and we will not submit any application that we do not consider legitimate.

We provide the following Exchange Control services insofar as they relate to IP:

- drafting of applications to the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) for the

  assignment or licensing of IP;

- opinions regarding the need for exchange control approval and the status of

  existing exchange control applications;
